Sunday 16th November 2025 at 3pm

The Bushey Symphony Orchestra opens the 2025/26 season with a memorial concert for John Tatham (1922–2025), a much-loved stalwart of the second violin section. At 102, he played in the BSO’s 50th Anniversary concert, just weeks before his passing. John will be deeply missed – a true gentleman, devoted musician and cherished friend to the orchestra and its audience.

Bizet: Suite ‘Jeux d’enfants’, Op 22
Shostakovich: Piano Concerto No 2 in F, Op 102
Mendelssohn: Symphony No 3 in A minor, Op 56 ‘Scottish’

Annie Yim (Piano soloist) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian pianist, creative collaborator and founder of MusicArt, London. Praised by The Times for producing ‘the most beautiful sounds, radiantly coloured, thoughtfully articulated’, she is known for a wide-ranging repertoire from the classical canon to contemporary works. She has performed live on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and national broadcasts in Canada and Portugal, and made her UK concerto debut at LSO St Luke’s. Raised in Vancouver, she studied with Robert Silverman and later with Joan Havill at London’s Guildhall School. In 2023 she was appointed Lecturer and Course Leader in Music Performance at the London College of Music, University of West London.
