Wycombe Sinfonia

Wycombe Sinfonia is an orchestra of classical proportions consisting of local players of a very good standard.

Established in 1985 by the conductor John Dunnett and the then leader Pam Abbott, the orchestra performs varied programmes, ranging from family concerts to themed events and the more traditional arrangement of overture, concerto, and symphony.

Soloists are often international artists but there are also opportunities for local talented players to perform with the orchestra.

The orchestra particularly likes to provide younger local soloists with the opportunity to play a concerto and they also commission works from aspiring composers in the area. The current leader of Wycombe Sinfonia is Stephen Cossins.
